Single Phase autotransformer Buying Guide
content
1. What is a single phase transformer?
A single-phase transformer is a transformer that operates on a single-phase power supply.
A single-phase transformer consists of a magnetic core as the magnetic transformer part and the transformer copper winding as the electrical part.
A single-phase transformer is an efficient electrical device with very low losses as its operation does not involve any mechanical friction.
A single-phase transformer is a type of power transformer that utilizes single-phase alternating current, which means that the transformer relies on voltage cycles that operate in uniform time periods.
They are typically used to reduce long distance and local transmission currents to power levels more suitable for residential and light commercial applications.
The ratio of the primary (input) winding to the secondary (output) winding determines the change in current. Circuits can be isolated using a 1:1 ratio single-phase transformer.
Single-phase transformers obey Ohm’s law and do not generate or remove power other than the tiny inherent losses due to heat.
2. What is a single phase isolation transformer
A single-phase isolation transformer is a safety power supply, usually used for machine repair and maintenance, and plays the role of maintenance, lightning protection and filtering.
A single-phase isolation transformer is a 1/1 transformer. The primary is single-phase 220V, the secondary is single-phase 220V. Or the primary is three-phase 380V, and the secondary is also three-phase 380V. First, the AC power voltage we usually use is grounded through one wire, and the potential difference between the other wire and the ground is 220V. Touching people will cause electric shock.
The secondary of the single-phase isolation transformer is not grounded, and there is no potential difference between any two wires of the single-phase isolation transformer and the ground.
If people touch any of the wires, it is safer to get electrocuted.
Second, the output of the single-phase isolation transformer is completely “disconnected” and isolated from the input. This effectively filters the input of the transformer (the supply voltage from the grid).
Therefore, the pure supply voltage is supplied to the electrical equipment.
3. How does a single-phase isolation transformer work?
Isolation transformers are theoretically safe power sources, and are generally used for machine repair and maintenance to protect, protect against lightning, and filter. An isolation transformer is a 1/1 transformer. The primary is single-phase 220V, and the secondary is also single-phase 220V. Or the primary three-phase 380V, and the secondary is also three-phase 380V.
1. Usually, one line of the AC power supply voltage we use is connected to the ground, and there is a potential difference of 220V between the other line and the ground. Human contact can cause electric shock. The secondary of the isolation transformer is not connected to the ground, and there is no potential difference between any two lines of it and the ground. People will not get electric shock when they touch any line, so it is safer.
2. The output end of the isolation transformer is completely isolated from the input end, which effectively plays a good filtering role on the input end of the transformer (power supply voltage supplied by the grid). Thus, a pure power supply voltage is provided to the electrical equipment. Another use is anti-interference. It can be widely used in subways, high-rise buildings, machine stations, docks, industrial and mining enterprises, and tunnels for power transmission and distribution.
Isolation transformer refers to a transformer in which the input winding and the output winding are electrically isolated from each other to avoid the danger of accidentally touching live objects (or metal parts that may be charged due to insulation damage) and the ground at the same time. The same as the dry-type transformer, it also uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to isolate the primary power circuit, and the secondary circuit floats to the ground to ensure the safety of electricity use.
4. Advantages of single phase isolation transformer
High security. Reliable isolation transformers have high safety performance. Even if a person accidentally touches the power supply during use, there will be no electric shock.
Prevent electronic equipment from polluting the grid. Durable isolation transformers provide stable quality and reduce environmental pollution.
Anti-interference. Both single-phase isolation transformer and three-phase isolation transformer have good anti-interference function.
The isolation transformer has stable performance, low energy consumption and high work efficiency.
5. Disadvantages of single-phase isolation transformers
- Isolation transformers have high energy consumption, low efficiency, large size and heavy weight.
- The isolation transformer has low power factor and large harmonic pollution.
- Big start shock.
- Poor isolation.
If the isolation transformer is operated with a high-power inductive load in an industrial site, the phase difference of the voltage and current will become larger, the power factor will become lower, and even the power station will be dragged down.
6. Single-phase isolation transformer application
The main function of the single-phase isolation transformer is to completely isolate the primary side and the secondary side of the electrical, and to isolate the circuit.
In addition, the high-frequency loss of its core is used to suppress high-frequency clutter from entering the control circuit. A single-phase isolation transformer is used to suspend the secondary ground and should only be used when the power supply scale is short and the lines are short.
At this time, the capacitive current of the system to the ground is small enough to cause harm to people. Another very important role is to maintain personal safety! Isolate risk voltages.
7. single phase isolation transformer price

8. How to choose single phase isolation transformer manufacturers and suppliers?
Single-phase isolation transformers are very important power equipment. What do we need to pay attention to when choosing single-phase isolation transformer manufacturers and suppliers? Let’s find out.
There are many manufacturers of single-phase isolation transformers. We must ensure that the quality of single-phase isolation transformers is qualified, otherwise there will be a danger of electric shock.
First of all, we must consider the technical level of the transformer manufacturer, whether it has strong research and development capabilities, and whether it can meet your needs, especially the needs of some special voltages.
Secondly, the cost of the transformer should be considered, including the price of the transformer and the transportation cost of the transformer.
In addition, the material used for the transformer is also important. Be sure to check with your single-phase transformer manufacturer and supplier whether you are using aluminum or copper wire.
When we choose transformer manufacturers and suppliers, we should not be greedy for temporary cheapness. Many transformer manufacturers sell aluminum wire transformers as copper wire transformers.
In addition, the after-sales service of the transformer should also be considered. Although the probability of transformer problems is relatively low, we still have to take this problem into account. What are the after-sales capabilities of transformer manufacturers and suppliers? Can you provide return service? These are very important.
